Commercial Driver Development Program (CDL)
Have you thought about truck driving as a career but don't know where to start?
Truck driving is one of the few occupations where students who complete the training are almost certain to go to work. Unlike other professions, driving a truck is one for which there will be an ongoing demand. Regardless of the commodity being shipped and regardless of economic conditions, there will always be trucks moving goods.
The four-week program includes:
- Hazardous Materials testing
- On-the-road driving
- Job placement assistance*
- Commercial Driver's License Review
- Qualified, experienced instructors
*Job placement assistance does not guarantee a student will gain employment. Schneider National, Inc. is one of several transportation companies who consider graduates of the UA Fort Smith Commercial Driver Development Program for employment upon successful completion of the program. Visit Schneider's career site to see a variety of open positions.
Are you a retired commercial driver looking for a part-time job?
The Commercial Driver Development Program at UAFS is seeking experienced drivers who hold a current CDL to join our team of part-time instructors. Work hours will vary depending on class size. For more information, please contact Roy Duncan at 479-462-5072.
